MOSCOW, Dec 26 (PRIME) -- The cost of 1 GB of mobile Internet in Russia plummeted 48% in 2019 to 37.3 rubles, the country is on the sixth place in the world by the indicator and remains the leader by the lowest price of limitless tariffs, information and analytical agency Content Review said in a research on Thursday.

The cost of 1 GB is 3.8 rubles in Iran, 22.7 rubles in Israel, 27.8 rubles in Kazakhstan, 33.6 rubles in Egypt and 36.8 rubles in Indonesia, the experts said.

“Traditionally the lowest cost of 1 GB is witnessed in the countries where the public cannot afford expensive services, like Iran, Egypt and Indonesia, and in the countries where operators try to keep a high average revenue per user by imposing voluminous bundles of traffic, like Israel,” Content Review Director and the research’s author Sergei Polovnikov said.
